I have lived in different countries and different places. I adjust easily, but my big advantage and disadvantage is that I fall in love easily. I fall in love with people. Meaning, I get fascinated by people I meet. Curious, interested. I love hearing stories from people, to learn about their life, customs, culture.
So many people come into our lives. Some to stay forever, some for a little while and some just for a moment, like that little girl by the edge of the sea. The hard thing about falling in love with people is that it is very hard to say goodbye. Almost unbearable.
But it is worth it. So worth it. Because wherever you go, they are there- with you. People that makes you happy whether you are with them in real life or just in your mind and in your hearth.
1-30 April 2015 I participate in the A to Z blogger challenge, and this post is written as a part of that challenge. My theme for the challenge is Happiness. I hope you enjoy coming along.
People are fascinating! I love people-watching when I'm at a coffee shop or even just out for a walk. Travelling opens you up to different people and cultures and I think we learn so much and can grow as individuals too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and visiting:-) Hugs
DeletePeople and places fascinate me all the time. That quote is quite lovely!

DeleteWow, this was so profound. I haven't lived in too many places, just two-three places cities to be specific but yes, I've met a lot of people and I know it means to know them and to let them go.

DeleteYes, I am fascinated by people. I think the more you meet people, the more you listen to their stories, the better you understand this world.
ReplyDeleteWell said, dear Prasanna, thanks a lot:-)
DeleteI bring home the stories of people I see outside while traveling. A writer is never off duty :)
ReplyDeleteTrue, dear Sulekha. Thanks for sharing:-)
DeleteLoved your post Eli and you sound like me :)
ReplyDeleteI once heard this and I keep using it - Life is like moving from one room to the other. There are people in each room, while some choose to move with you, some prefer to stay back. In each room you meet a set of new poeple and you make new relationships, to move away from it or to take it along.
Awww, thats amazing. Thanks for sharing dear Parul:-)
DeleteSo true, Eli. The child's smile can spark incredible positive vibes. It reminds me of two of my friends, twin sisters, at Marine Drive and who would jump on seeing me. There are some places that stay with us forever.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vishal, for visiting and sharing:- All the best
DeleteI am also fascinated with people, and like you, I chose it for the letter P :)

Thank you so much:-) Its from an area close to Banganga tank in Mumbai, not sure the name of it. Happy to see you here:-)
DeleteLovely post, Eli! I love people watching and meeting people by chance for a moment and then they're gone like that little girl you wrote about. It is sad that people come and go in and out of our lives as we travel, change jobs, move, or people die, or we change. That's what the whole life journey is about, I guess. We have to enjoy these meetings while we have them.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know you, Eli as a distance blogging friend! I think the Blog A Rhythm gang are the best!
Thank you so much sweet Cathy. So happy for your kind words. Big hugs

ReplyDeleteThanks a lot dear, always so happy reading your kind comments:-)
DeleteYes Eli ! I love people, and I always like to make friends with people where ever I go, I am happy to be surrounded by different types of people in my life... you can never get lonely in life, if you make friends wherever you go... I always tell my daughter to keep making friends( as she will always be complaining that she has no friends). Its interesting to talk to people, understand them and I feel so enriched and of course when they move away or die, apart of us also goes with them.. loved this post and thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Genevive. You always give so generous and kind feedback - so grateful to connect with you. Warm hugs
