Sitting on the white bench in the
flowery garden, thinking back, she felt happy.
She smiled, as she in her mind was jumping and dancing down that memory lane of her childhood.
Only good memories. She knew that that was not the case for some people, but
it was for her.
A Happy Childhood.
It should be a happy time for every human being, she thought. Childhood, that place in your hearth you can travel back to and smile just by thinking of. And she remembered running through green grass, playing hide and seek, sitting with grandparents, playing and laughing. She smiled as she felt the warm autumn sun on her face. Thinking back, it seemed like it was only sun in her childhood too. A Happy Childhood. Without a worry in the world.
To be thrown up in the air and gathered again in some strong arms. Someone who loved you and thought you were the miracle of their world. She smiled. And closed her eyes.

Beautiful quotes on Childhood:
There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again. ~Elizabeth Lawrence
When you finally go back to your old hometown, you find it wasn't the old home you missed but your childhood. ~Sam Ewing
I'd give all wealth that years have piled,
The slow result of Life's decay,
To be once more a little child
For one bright summer day.
~Lewis Carroll, "Solitude"

I am sure that childhood is a wonderful phase. Nevertheless, I insist that you should never underestimate adulthood and enjoy your present to the fullest. All the best with the challenge :)

DeleteThis was so lovely and nostalgic! It's a shame that not everyone has happy childhood memories such as these. This is the way it should be. I am lucky that I had a pretty good childhood and the only trauma was the constant moving as a military kid. I still have good memories though and wish I could tap into that sense of wonder and magic that I had back then. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I don't.
ReplyDeleteThanks dear Cat:-) so happy u liked it and thanks for sharing your own memories. Big hugs

DeleteBeautiful... I love that last piece of poetry by Lewis Carroll. My husband still pretends to travel to space with my son as a co-pilot, making crashing, beeping, zipping noises under the covers before going to sleep. We both watch cartoons with our kids, even the newer ones, and we play with them in the park. I even have my own glove and cleats to play softball with my daughter, and shin guards for soccer with my son. Sports was a big part of our childhood. I always say my husband and I are big kids at heart. It's so true that if you carry your childhood with you, you never grow old. I still wonder when I'll grow up. I turn 40 this year! :-)
ReplyDeleteI really hope my children's childhoods stay with them when they are older.
Thank you so much Tanya- for your kind words and for sharing. Happy to see you here:-)
DeleteI wish everyone would keep the 'child' in them as an adult! It would make life less serious and more fun, more playful, more joyous, more light, more carefree...just like that delightful picture of the girl dancing in your post! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Elly:-) big hugs
