Q for Quotes

Sometimes the night is darker than usual and the morning seems gloomy and grey
The sun doesn't shine as bright as it can and you feel you have nothing to say

The flowers look pale and the birds have no song and the trees have their winter cape on
You sit there and wonder where am I today and it looks like your words are all gone

You stare out at nothing, your mind is just blank, the magic is too far away
then what else to do then to read some wise words that can give you the strength to stay

To stay there to write which you love more than life, and to kick all that darkness away
an uplifting quote when you need it the most - and oh joy - it might save your day:-)

Some quotes that makes me inspired and happy:

Do you have a favorite quote? Please share.

1-30 April 2015 I participate in the A to Z blogger challenge, and this post is written as a part of that challenge. My theme for the challenge is Happiness. I hope you enjoy coming along.

  1. Those are all great. I can relate to Joan Rivers. Sometimes, I laugh out loud, just because I thought of something funny! Here's a good one: “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” Howard Thurman.
    And, mine: Go. Create. Inspire!

  3. Yes we all need that extra bit of encouragement from others' words and thoughts. I have a lot of favourite quotes, but today the mood that I am in perhaps this one by Oscar Wilde sums up best - "Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not."

  5. Loved the quote by Mark Twain. My fav these days is : “Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it. Memories are sweet, cherish it.” :)

  14. Loved these quotes. The moon and stars one... we got it made as mementos in school for our outgoing seniors. My all-time favorite quote is "Life is what happens to us while we are busy making other plans." Don't remember who said it though.

  19. Love your poem and the quotes Eli! :) I have a few in no particular order: (1) Be the change that you wish to see in the world (Gandhi) (2) Dance like there's nobody watching, sing like there's nobody listening, love like you'll never get hurt, live like there's heaven on earth (Purkey) (3) I want to sing like the birds sing, not worrying about who hears or what they think. (Rumi) (4) Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground. (Rumi) (5)

  23. I too love quotes. A quote a day is what we all need to inspire and encourage us. In the words of A A Milne, 'a quotation is a handy thing to have about, saving one the trouble of thinking for oneself, always a laborious business' Amen to that!

    that was deep or me!
