M for Moments

These small moments that came and left. How could I have known that they are life itself?

Ah, those moments of life. Those memories. What a blessing they can be, she thought. Closing her eyes, traveling back, recapturing.. Not getting stuck back there, but just re-visiting for a little while, dwelling a bit. Those random memories that makes her smile. Gone now, but still there, like in a pleasant dream she can visit again and again if she wants to. And she does. Some more often than others.

...that moment with people she cares so much about:

...that late summer evening with her best friend:

... that stroll along the sea:

Moments with kids, moments with loved ones, a smile from a stranger, a funny comment, a nice meal, an emotional farewell, a funny trip, a happy reunion, a film, a talk, a hug, a decision. Let's celebrate those moments. They are life itself.

Ah, those moments. Whether you are on travels or at home - they are there. The bad ones too, but no need to linger with those. They are gone, and you probably have learned something from them. But keep the good ones with you, the ones that makes you smile. The ones that makes you happy.

And make new ones. Right now. Because that is life. That moment right now. Grab it. Make it yours.

Do you have some special happy moments? Please share.

1-30 April 2015 I participate in the A to Z blogger challenge, and this post is written as a part of that challenge. My theme for the challenge is Happiness. I hope you enjoy coming along.

  1. Were you writing about someone special at the beginning? I really enjoyed the writing style here. As for moments, yes, I try to remember the good ones, the special ones, and I try to leave behind the bad ones. It's not always easy, but important to move on.

College is coming to an end and we are determined to create as many happy moments together as possible :) Lovely post Eli :)

  6. My kids are growing up fast. I have memories of them as little boys, their joy, their energy, snuggles. I'm also making new memories as we do field trips together, college visits, vacations, or just talking with them about life, their future, what they're noticing in the world.

  8. I think life is about the small moments that make a lifetime of memories. I think my happiest moment was when my daughter was born. My doctor held her up and although she was covered in gooey stuff, I kissed her forehead and said she is the most beautiful person I have ever set my eyes on :) My daughter loves listening to that story :)

  14. A great 'M' word Eli! :) Moments of all kinds, both 'good' and 'bad," sure make up life don't they? Thus, it certainly makes sense to create as wonderful a life based on the present moment, again and again and again and again... ;) <3
