K for Karma

What goes around comes around - or what? Do you believe that, that your actions have consequences? That you create your happiness and your misery? That one day you may be in the same circumstances that you put someone else in?

I think that whether you believe in karma or not, trying to live by the principles of karma is a good thing. At least it gives me a grounded feeling of peace and happiness.

Because I like it, and I try to live by that. To treat people with a nice attitude. To greet people with a smile and a kind word. To meet people like I myself want to be met.

And I like thinking that how people treat me is their karma but how I react to it is my karma. Because we can never control other people's actions. We can only control our own.

In the light of this, your world today is then a reflection of your past, and what you do today will mirror your future. It is you, and you alone, who are responsible for your actions. You are responsible for your own karma.

I like the feeling of self-power and letgo, letitbe, I get when I think of karma. To try to live by these principles, (even though some times it can be really challenging..) - makes me happy.

1-30 April 2015 I participate in the A to Z blogger challenge, and this post is written as a part of that challenge. My theme for the challenge is Happiness. I hope you enjoy coming along.

  1. True that Eli. What goes around does come around. I like your thought on letgo, letbe. After all karma will take care of whatever it is that you have been kind enough to let go or let be.

  4. You have described Karma perfectly and "how people treat me is their karma but how I react to it is my karma" sums it up well.

  8. The golden rule is a good one too. Treat others as you would like them to treat you. My kids ask me "what if they are still mean even if I am nice?" To which I reply, "step away and try to ignore the meanness." I also often tell them that people are sometimes mean because they are angry about something that has nothing to do with them, and to hold no grudges. Everyone deserves a clean slate, everyday.
