About me

Thanks for visiting my blog. I am Eli.

I am a curious soul. I know my (Norwegian) roots, and love living here, as I do now, after some years abroad in different countries. When I was 18, I bought a one- way ticket from Norway to Latin-America, and I have lived many years abroad. I used to write the blog expatliv, where you can read about my years in India.

I have called this blog A Global Fusionista as I believe that the sense of belongingness comes from within. Home is where your heart is. And I am less of a fashionista and more of a fusionista, as I believe in traveling with an open mind and an open heart. Know your roots, know where you come from, but also be open to new ways of doing things, new ideas, thoughts, perspectives. Explore a new culture, history and cuisine. Embrace the new, and take the best with you on your life journey. By doing that, I enjoy being a global fusion-ista (as a friend called me). Or sometimes more of a confusion-ista?

In my professional life I have worked as a leader within international relations, journalist, teacher and within tourism, HR and public relations. In India I volunteered with an NGO and worked in the slum area in Mumbai, the most personally rewarding job I have ever done. My big passion in life is writing, and I do a lot of that, including some work for magazines, and as you can see here - I blog. I have two wonderful adult kids - lucky me to be their mum:-). Some years ago, I went through a tough divorce, hard but it had to be so: unavoidable and irreversible. I am lucky now to have an amazing, kind, warm and caring boyfriend. I train boxing and have a passion for being outdoor in the nature: mountains, forest and by the sea and I also love music, and enjoy yoga and meditation.

NB! I write my blog in English, which is not my mother-tongue, so please forgive me - all native English speakers for my own version of your language.

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow's still a mystery. Live today!
